Over the years, Teri Miko has made a name for herself by being known as an electronic producer and DJ. <br /><br />Known for her highly energetic sets, she recently performed at High Ultra Lounge.<br /><br />She spoke to Anila Kurian about her achievements in the music industry. <br /><br />What motivated you to enter the music industry? <br />I always knew that I will be doing something in the music industry. I come from a musically-inclined family, so I’ve always had good knowledge about it.<br /><br />My friends suggested that I become a DJ since I like to party and that hobby became a career option.<br /><br />You’ve performed around the world. How different is the audience?<br />Each country/region has a different taste in music. While France is more hiphop-oriented, Germany is more into techno music. But in India, it’s completely different.<br /><br />There’s a huge crowd that enjoys Bollywood music and EDM. So it’s great to explore those terrains. <br /><br />Where in India have you enjoyed playing the most? <br />Mumbai has a good audience but also does Bengaluru and Hyderabad. Then again, I never know what to expect each time I perform. <br /><br />The best compliment you’ve received...<br />It’s when someone told me that I am Skrillex’s sister.<br /><br />What’s the worst compliment you have got? <br />(Laughs) Can a compliment be bad?<br /><br />Well, something that made you uncomfortable...<br />I don’t like it when people give me sexist compliments. I don’t enjoy it when they comment on how hot I look.<br /><br />I represent my music and I am an artiste. I don’t like to be known as the party person behind the console. <br /><br />What’s the best way to impress you?<br />Simply compliment my music.<br /><br />If music is your first love, what’s second?<br />Food, followed by sleep. <br /><br />If you could be eternally stuck in one year, which one would you pick? <br />The beginning of the 2000 as it was the golden time for RnB music.
