<p class="title">The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) on Friday inducted 45 jeeps to be used for the rescue and relief during accidents.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Transport Minister H M Revanna, who operated a jeep to formally induct them, said each division will get two or three such vehicles which will also have staff trained in first aid.</p>.<p class="bodytext">"The equipment needed to give first aid in the golden hour will be stored in the vehicles. These vehicles will carry a quick response team to save lives at the critical time and rush the injured to the hospital," he said.</p>.<p class="bodytext">He said though ambulances from the health department have been providing assistance to passengers during accidents, KSRTC has gone a step further in setting up its own teams.</p>.<p class="bodytext">"Rs 3.53 crore has been spent on buying these vehicles," he added.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The minister also said private bus operators will not be stopped from providing online booking option for passengers.</p>.<p class="byline">DH News Service</p>
