After impressing with his stint as the women's and the girls' teams coach, Serbian Zoran Visic has now been tasked to guide the men's national team in the upcoming FIBA World Cup qualifiers.

BFI secretary general Chandermukhi Sharma confirmed his appointment as the head coach. "Yes he is (the coach). He is under the payroll of BFI and now we have appointed him as the coach of the men's team," Sharma said.

India will travel to Lebanon to face them in their Group C qualifier on November 23 before facing Syria here at the Sree Kanteerava Indoor Stadium on November 26. Jordan is the fourth team in the pool.

With decades of international coaching experience under his belt, Visic was named the head coach of the senior women's team in June and at July's Asia Cup, he helped India win the (lower) Division B of the competition. Hoping to continue the same, the BFI then made him the head coach the under-16 girls' team.

Visic didn't disappoint. Under his tutelage, the young girls dominated the under-16 Asian championship in October, winning all their games in comfortable fashion and gaining promotion to Division A in front of home fans.
