Nitte varsity gets new VC, pro VC

The Nitte University appointed a new vice-chancellor and pro-chancellor on Friday. Accordingly, Dr Satheesh Kumar Bhandary, dean of K S Hegde Medical Academy, has been appointed as the vice-chancellor of Nitte University.

Dr Satheesh Kumar Bhandary started his academic journey in Mysore Medical College from where he graduated in 1979, followed by a diploma in ENT and completed his postgraduation, MS in ENT from JJMMedical College, Mysuru in 1986.

He was appointed as professor  and head of the department of ENT, from 1999, for a period of 13 years, then as the vice dean, for a period of  five years and later as the dean of KS Hegde Medical Academy for  five years.

Dr M S Moodithaya has taken charge as the pro vice-chancellor of Nitte University. He was serving as the registrar of Nitte University. He had also served as the director of Justice K S Hegde Institute of Management, Nitte and as the principal of Dr NSAM First Grade College, Nitte, in the past.

During his academic career spanning over three decades, Moodithaya has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals, published books and completed more than a dozen research projects funded by organisations like Indian Institute of Banking and Finance, Karnataka State Agriculture and Marketing Board, NABARD, Ford Foundation, ICSSR, Sir Ratan Tata Trust and Ministry of Finance.
