<p>Madikeri: The first additional district and sessions court has sentenced two persons to life imprisonment on the charge of murder.</p>.<p>The accused are Rakesh of Changulanda in Hudikeri and Deena of Kannandabane. They were also asked to pay a fine of Rs 7,500 each. For damaging the evidence, they were told to undergo five years of rigorous imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 2,500 each. It is said that Rakesh and Deena had murdered Deena's husband Prasanna on February 8, 2010.</p>.<p>DH News Service </p>.<p>********************************</p>.<p>71 cases registered</p>.<p>Madikeri: As many as 71 cases have been registered against illegal sand mining jointly by the police, mines and geology and revenue officials in the district so far, said SP P Rajendra Prasad.</p>.<p>In a press release, he said that was illegally extracted from the banks of river Cauvery, Harangi, Lakshmanatheertha and Barapole.
