'Indira's ideologies relevant today'

MLA Vasu said that leaders from all political parties must be invited to discuss the achievements and ideologies of former prime minister Indira Gandhi.

Addressing a gathering during Indira Gandhi's 100th birth anniversary celebrations organised by the city Congress unit here on Sunday, the MLA said that he is ready to offer Rs 1 lakh to convene such a programme but the organisers should ensure that all political parties participate. The achievements of Indira Gandhi should be debated in the programme, he said.

In his inaugural address, PWD and District in-charge Minister H C Mahadevappa said that Indira Gandhi had once said that she lived for unity, integrity and wholeness and the statement is relevant even in the present day scenario.
