Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday invited all countrymen to share with him and others 5-10 positive things that they might have heard, seen or experienced in the days gone by "so that other people would get to know of them and this would lead to a spirit of benevolence."
Addressing the nation in this month's 'Mann ki Baat', the prime minister said, "I invite all of you to welcome the year 2018 in a good atmosphere, with positive memories, positive thinking and positive tidings."
"If you remember positive events, then you will be in a mood to do good around you. Positive events provide energy to do good. Positive thoughts beget positive resolve, positive resolve takes you forward towards auspicious results," the prime minister said.
"Can we not contribute in this endeavour? Can't we share five of our positive life experiences of the past year? They may be conveyed through photographs, in the form of a small story or a small video. Come, let us share our positive experiences with #PositiveIndia on the Narendra Modi App or MyGov portal."
Modi said, "as we draw plans for the new year, our elders and the elderly people of our villages are always reminding us that one must forget sorrow but not the joy. You, too, forget your sorrow but do not forget the joy. I think we should propagate this wisdom. We must usher in the auspicious in 2018, enter the New Year with the resolution of the auspicious."
