Concerned CA to take stock of situation

“We’re keen to talk to IPL organisers, and that will possibly happen some time in the next twelve hours or so, just to get an understanding of what’s going on,” CA spokesman Peter Young said.

He, however, said the board is not taking any call right now about their participation in the ICC World Cup, which will be held in the sub-continent next year.

“The World Cup is too far away to comment about,” he said.

Young said that Australian players are taking part in the IPL independently but expressed relief that all of them were safe. “In a formal sense we are not connected. But we are always concerned about our players and personnel,” Young said. “We are relieved, however, that there have been no injuries to any of our personnel.”
