JD(S) district president Yogish Shetty said that JD(S) is all set to take center stage in the state's politics and emerge as the king instead of the kingmaker.

Speaking to reporters, the JD(S) leader said that the public is fed up with the two national political parties which are self-centric. Voters badly need a change and JD(S) would be the alternative that is available, he reiterated.

He added that the national parties are under the impression that the party is already sinking especially in the coastal belt, which is not true. The party is emerging as the surprise winner in the forthcoming assembly polls. The party would contest in all five assembly constituencies in the district. It is also embarking on fielding women candidates, he said and expressed optimism of the party opening its account in the district.

He added that the governance of former Prime Minister Deve Gowda and former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy is impressive as it catered to the needs of all the sections in the society. The poor-friendly and pro-people governance offered by the JD(S) government in the past would play a leading and decisive role, he added. He said that JD(S) would emerge as a winner.
