<p>The high court on Tuesday sentenced Sunil H B, a sub-inspector at Kaggalipura police station, to one-month imprisonment and fined him Rs 2,000 for disrespecting its orders.</p>.<p class="bodytext">A division bench of Justices Ravi Malimath and John Michael Cunha passed the order while hearing a contempt of court petition filed by the high court registrar general against Sunil. In 2016, he had refused to accept the bail copy issued by a court to release an accused in the criminal case. He even threw the order saying he has seen many of them. </p>.<p class="bodytext">Later in the day, however, he completed the formalities and released the accused.
