Refund of ticket fare to begin today

Last Updated 19 April 2010, 19:24 IST

The refunds will be between 10.30 am to 6.30 pm. However, DNA Networks, the official company incharge of selling the tickets has stated that the refund will also continue on Sunday.

The KSCA has asked DNA Networks to have at least five counters for the refund of the tickets. ‘‘However, DNA Networks is yet to confirm as to how many counters it will actually have at Gate number 9,” said assitant secretary KSCA, B K Ravi.

Ticket holders, apart from online customers, have been asked to visit the counter at Gate Number 9 of the Chinnaswamy Stadium and collect their refund after surrendering the original tickets.

Meanwhile, online customers who received hard tickets need to return them at the e-Ticket redemption counter and take acknowledgment for processing the refund or courier the same to ticketgenie office. The refund process for the online tickets will take atleast 10-15 days from the receipt of the tickets, state IPL officials. ‘‘We will take full security measures during the refund with the assistance of the Bangalore City Police,” informed Ravi.

The refund will be made in cash to those who had bought the tickets at the counters while internet booking customers will have their money deposited into their accounts.

The venue shifted to Navi Mumbai on account of the bomb explosion on Saturday has caused many a heartbreak for cricket lovers in the City. While the entire City mourns the unforeseen end of the IPL, perhaps the only smiling faces in the City would be those of the multiplexes and cinema hall owners who will be once again in demand to give Bangaloreans a deserved break from their daily chores.
