'Issue white paper on contribution of Cong'

BJP state secretary Manu Muthappa has challenged the district Congress to issue a white paper on the contributions of the Congress-led government in Kodagu district.

He said that the BJP had issued a white paper on the release of Rs 1,800 crore grant to Kodagu district during the BJP's tenure in the state.

Briefing reporters here on Monday, he said that during the BJP's tenure, funds were released for laying highway, rural roads, setting up of a medical college, Mangalore University PG Centre at Chikkaluvara, district administration complex, mini Vidhana Soudha, upgrading a stadium and others. In the last four and a half years the Congress-led state government has released only Rs 200 crore, he said. The rural roads are crying for attention. The demand for a overbridge at Bhagamandala has not been fulfilled so far.
