Ambi functioning from close confidant's house draws flak

Former minister and MLA M H Ambareesh working from the residence of his close confidant Amaravathy Chandrashekar, since the last four and a half years, has drawn flak.

Ambareesh, who visited Chandrashekar's house on Monday afternoon, held a meeting with his supporters. He also sought information on the ongoing Amrut scheme, summoning the Karnataka Urban Water Supply and Drainage Board officials to Chandrashekar's residence.

A full-fledged office was opened for him at Cauvery Neeravari Nigam's building. Ambareesh has not visited the office even once, but, has conducted a couple of meetings at Chandrashekar's residence on the outskirts of the city and has returned to Bengaluru from there itself.

Farmer leader Shambunahalli Suresh alleged that Ambareesh has never heard the grievances of the public after being elected as MLA. Instead, he issues orders to the officials from Chandrashekar's house, he said.

RTI activist K R Raveendra said, "Ambareesh still thinks and behaves like a film-star. He has failed to understand his responsibilities as a legislator. He should at least mingle with the people during elections. But he always neglects the people and hurls abuses at them."

A Congress leader, on a condition of anonymity, said, Ambareesh visits the district only when he wants some benefits for his supporters.
