Mysuru Palace Board has agreed to provide space for the Fire and Emergency Services Department to establish an exclusive fire station on the palace premises.
Deputy Commissioner D Randeep, who is also the executive officer of the board, in a communication to the Director General of Police and Director General (DGP&DG) Fire and Safety, has agreed to provide space for the office and also to station a vehicle.
The three rooms on the first floor of a building in Bidadi Block will be given for the office, the board has agreed for stationing of a Fire and Emergency Services vehicle near Karikallu Thotti gate.
The fire station will be established on the lines of the stations in Vidhana Soudha, Raj Bhavan, M S Building, and Karnataka High Court in Bengaluru.
A few months ago, a ticket counter was destroyed in a fire accident at the palace gate.
