Last Updated 29 December 2017, 16:37 IST

Adivasi Hakkugala Samanvaya Samithi district convener Y K Ganesh has warned that an indefinite dharna will be held in tribal haadi if the district administration fails to lay roads and bridges at Tirunada haadi and Chandanakere tribal haadi (colony) in Virajpet taluk.

Briefing reporters here on Friday, he said that 29 families in Thirunada haadi and 39 families in Chandanakere have been residing here for the past 30 years. However, without proper road connectivity, the residents in the colony are devoid of basic facilities. He urged the Deputy Commissioner to visit the spot and inspect the pathetic condition of the colony.

Thirunada Haadi president P M Thammu said that, "We have submitted applications to the gram panchayats seeking basic facilities including roads. The residents of two colonies are currently devoid of facilities."
