Halegannda literary convention in S'belagola in May: Baligar

The inaugural Akhila Bharata Halegannada Sahitya Sammelana will be organised in Shravanabelagola in 2018, said Kannada Sahitya Parishat state president Manu Baligar.

He said this while addressing the gathering at Kannada Jaina Sahitya Sammelana here on Saturday.
The Parishat will discuss it with Charukeerthi Bhattaraka Swami and the Halegannada convention will be held tentatively in May 2018. In fact, the Parishat had plans to hold the convention this November. But it was put off due to the Kannada Sahitya Sammelana in Mysuru, Baligar said.

The Kannada Sahitya Parishat reprinted Ratnakaravarni's magnum opus 'Bharatesh Vaibhava' following the request by Jaina literature buffs. Likewise, two more Jaina books will be reprinted soon, Parishat president said.

Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Veerendra Heggade inaugurated the Jaina literary convention. Jinadatta Desai, president of the convention, and others were present.
