That is the kind of basic statistics the mega play in Kannada ‘Malegalalli Madumagalu’ boasts of.

The play, which stretches up to nine hours with four intervals, will be staged every alternate day at Rangayana in Mysore, starting from April 23.

Last show for the season will be held on May 11. Tickets are priced at Rs 40. Audience arriving from outstation can book the tickets on 0821-2512639. Local audiences can walk into the premises after 3.30 pm on the day of the show to buy tickets from the counter.
Having evoked tremendous amount of interest and curiosity among theatre circles, tickets for first three shows of the play have been completely sold out.

Based on a novel by Kuvempu, considered to be his magnum opus, of the same name, the play has been directed by NSD graduate and former Rangayana director C Basavalingaiah. It is adapted to stage by writer K Y Narayanaswamy.
