Last Updated 07 January 2018, 18:23 IST

Former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda has said that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has been misusing the administrative machinery.

"By making officials sit on the stage, he has been calling upon the people to vote for Congress," said Deve Gowda.

Speaking to reporters on Sunday, he said, "There are 120 days remaining for the Assembly election in the state. The state government has borrowed Rs 1,46,000 crore. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has been laying foundation stones for development projects worth Rs 1,000 crore, Rs 800 crore wherever he goes. What will happen to the government in the future?"

Violence in coast

Further, he said that there has been an increase in communal violence in the coastal districts in the last four months, but the state government has failed to contain it.

"I do not wish to react to BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa's statement during BJP's Navakarnataka Parivarthana Yathra. I do not look into the poll prediction conducted by the media," he said.
