Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rally in Bengaluru, as part of Nava Karnataka Nirmana Parivarthana Yatra, scheduled to be held on January 28, is likely to be postponed by a week.
According to BJP sources, the Union Cabinet decided that the budget session of Parliament will commence on January 29 and the presence of Modi in New Delhi on the eve of the session will be required. However, they said the likely postponement had nothing to do with the January 27 bandh call given by pro-Kannada organisations on the Mahadayi issue.
