Inderjeet's hearing postponed again

Last Updated 18 January 2018, 18:19 IST

There is no end to the woes of shot-putter Inderjeet Singh whose hearing at the National Anti-Doping Disciplinary Panel was indefinitely postponed on Thursday.

One of the previous hearings of the athlete, on December 20, was also postponed though another one was held on January 5 in which two witnesses were examined.

Frustrated by repeated delays, Inderjeet had written to the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and even to the Sports Ministry, but is yet to hear from them.

Inderjeet had tested positive for testosterone days before the Rio Games for a sample collected on June 22 during training. Another sample collected during competition in Hyderabad, on June 29, was also notified as 'positive' after NADA initially informed the federation that it had turned up negative. Inderjeet alleged that there was "sabotage".
