JOIN USA 25-year-old medical assistant (nurse) reportedly committed suicide at her work place in Sridevi Hospital near Nagarbhavi on Monday.
The victim, Nishkala's colleagues found her hanging from a ceiling in her room.
Nishkala was in love with her colleague Gangadhar. Their parents knew about their love affair. Nishkala was pleading with him to marry her. But Gangadhar refused, saying that both belong to different castes. Her brother had an argument with Gangadhar, following which Gangadhar decided to quit the hospital, Chandra Layout police said.
In a police complaint, Nishkala's parents said that Gangadhar cheated their daughter which forced her to end her life. They have sought to register an FIR against him and take action.
The police said soon after the incident, Gangadhar switched off his mobile phone and is absconding.
