'49,618 beneficiaries to get free LPG connections'

District-In-Charge Minister B Ramanath Rai has said that 49,618 beneficiaries will get free LPG connections under Mukhyamanthri Anila Bhagya Yojane.

Chairing a meeting, he said that 49,618 households in the district do not have LPG connections. These beneficiaries are in the limits of 320 fair price shops of eight Assembly segments in the district. In the first phase, LPG connections will be given to 15,858 beneficiaries.

Under the scheme, gas stove will be given free of cost. Along with the security deposit of Rs 1,450, Rs 150 worth regulator, safety hose worth Rs 190, fixing charge Rs 100, two burner gas stoves Rs 1,000, and two refill cylinders for Rs 1,000 will be borne by the state government.

The funds have already been released through forest, food, labour and social welfare departments, he added.

Stating that the state government has released Rs 41.12 lakh for implementation of the scheme, Rai said that the fund will be utilised before March-end.

The officials should ensure that the beneficiaries are not denied of the facilities. In case the names of beneficiaries are not included by mistake, they will be included in the next phase, he added.
