Bear mauls villager; leopard captured in Magadi

A farmer who was deweeding his field in Yeledota village between Ramanagaram and Chennapatna towns was attacked by a bear on Thursday morning.    

The bear has mauled Basavarju, the victim on the head and neck. He is being treated at a Mandya hospital.

Forest dept. captures leopard

The Forest department officials have captured a leopard that was lurking around human habitats in Magadi taluk of Ramanagaram district on Thursday.  

Foresters said that they had laid the trap at Annekaranahalli village and the four-year-old male leopard fell into it. The trap was laid behind the Basavana temple.
