Maddur police rescue inter-faith couple

The Maddur Town Police on Sunday rescued the interfaith couple, who married against their parents will, from Bengaluru and have sent them to the bridegroom's house at Vaddaradoddi in the taluk on Sunday.

Aashiya, 19, of Leelavathi Layout in the town and Akshaykumar, 21, who belong to different religions, married against their parents wish at a temple in Bengaluru on January 25. The boy and the girls, who were missing from January 21, found at Yeshwantpur Bus Station in Bengaluru.

Aashiya, who was working in a textile industry in Somanahalli in the taluk and Akshaykumar, an employee with a private company in Bengaluru, were in love. But, the parents of the boy and the girl, opposed the affair. Aashiya's parents shifted her to Mysuru. On January 21, they both escaped and got married.

The police, who brought the couple to the station, recorded their statements and sent to Akshyakumar's house.
