Govt to celebrate Valmiki Jayanti

Addressing a district-level convention of Valmiki community here on Sunday, he said “The beginning will be made from Bellary next year. The Government will bear the expense of observing Valmiki Jayanti at district-level.”

The Government has provided Rs eight crore for construction of community halls of Valmiki community at eight districts.

 The amount has remained unspent at many places due to non-availability of sites. The Government will allot sites for construction of community halls on priority basis, said Yeddyurappa who promised a site and financial aid for Valmiki community in Shimoga district.

CM announced to release Rs 25 lakh for renovation of Sindhura Lakshmana’s tomb in Hadagali village of Mudhol taluk which is in dilapidated state. If need arises, Government is ready to provide upto Rs 50 lakh, he added.
