Analysing the election results at the felicitation ceremony for five party nominees who won from Mahadevapura Assembly consittuency, the Leader of the Opposition in the State Assembly said the only way the Congress Party can get back to its former glory days is by coordinated work at the hobli level.

“The ruling party does not enjoy the confidence of people. It is only the money power that has proppelled them to a majority at the BBMP Council,” he said.

Siddaramaiah alleged that the BJP Government has been duping the people by stating that they had not received any support from the Union government. “The Central Government has released nearly Rs 23,000 crore for the development of the City under various schemes. The Government, due to rampant corruption, has failed to utilise it in an appropriate manner,” he added.

He believed that the people will teach lesson to the BJP in  the upcoming Gram Panchayat elections.

“There have been many  communal clash since the BJP came to power. There has been total failure of the administration in providing a safe and secure environment for the people of the State,” he said.

Referring to mine owners wielding political power, Siddaramiah appealed to the judiciary to take appropriate action against politicians involved in corrupt practices.
