History-sheeter murdered in Padubidri

The police making efforts to nab the culprits involved in the murder of the history-sheeter Naveen D'Souza on Wednesday night at Kanjarukatte in Santoor viallge in Padubidri.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Rishikesh Sonavane told DH that the police are working on clues to track the suspects. However, there is nothing concrete in this regard.

The victim, Naveen D'Souza, aged 38 years, was stabbed by four men who arrived in a car when D'Souza was about to start his motorbike after coming out from a bar.

He also had two men along with him as the pillion riders. The car, which came with high speed dashed against motorbike, following which all three in the motorbike fell down.

There were five men in the car, including the driver. Out of the five, four came out with swords and brutally assaulted D'Souza.

The two other men with D'Souza ran inside the bar for protection. Later, they fled the spot in car towards Kanjarukatte. Many cases are pending against D'Souza.

A case has been registered in Padubidri police station.
