Provide quota for Dalits

Addressing a press conference, he said that the government should drop the proposal of introducing 33 per cent reservation for women in Lok Sabha. “Let the government implement atleast 50 per cent reservation for Dalits, backward communities and minority in the Parliament,” he added.

The government is proposing to bring reservation for women without giving priority to Dalits, backward communities and minority. Women belong to Dalits, backward communities and minority will be deprived of their rights, if the Bill was introduced without considering them, he added.

BSP District President K T Radhakrishna said that protest will be organised in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office on May 2, condemning UPA government’s decision of introducing reservation for women.
