According to Yahoo! Developer Network Head Cody Simms this would enable any ‘social event’ in Yahoo! — such as a comment the user posts on a news item — gets reflected across Yahoo!’s products such as Mail or IM and also across social networking platforms like Facebook and Twitter in which the user is present so that he gains more visibility.
“We are making Yahoo! to be an aggregator of social streams — by letting people use products they like using but enable them to display content to be displayed in or through Yahoo! so that more people can see the ‘social event’ they create,” he added.
