The prominent one among them was the institution of yet another award in the name of Rajkumar called Rajkumar Souharda Prashasti. Every year, the award will be given to artistes who make remarkable contributions to the Kannada film industry. Director S K Bhagawan, senior artiste Shantamma Anilkumar and S Shivaram received the award this year from Parvatamma Rajkumar and her sons. The award includes a memento and a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh.

On the occasion, the three sons of the late actor — Shivaraj, Raghavendra and Puneeth took the bold step of signing a declaration of body donation to Ramaiah Medical College after their death. The representative of the college, Prakash, received the related documents from the actors.

“Our father donated his eyes and set a noble path for us to follow. Influenced by his social cause, today we have pledged our bodies for cadaver donation. If we can help bring light in the  lives of helpless people, our dream will be accomplished,” said Raghavendra Rajkumar. As people were curious to know about the book, to be released by the family, on
Rajanna, Puneeth utilised the occasion to reveal some interesting facts about the book.

“We have plans to release the book by September. As the book carries hundreds of rare pictures of Appaji, most of which are not published in any magazines or newspapers, it took a long time to collect and process them. I thank all those who gave me the rare pictures in their possessions,” said Puneeth.  The cover page of the book titled The Rajkumar: The Person Behind The Personality was unveiled by Parvatamma.
