A unique idea has made this Government Lower Primary School at Sannakere in Koppa taluk attractive for students.

Due to a decrease in the number of students, the head teacher along with the assistant teacher chalked out an idea of painting the school resembling a train.

Motivated by the school painting at head teacher A Bharathi's native in Nagooru, she decided to replicate the same in Sannakere.

When she expressed her desire to assistant teacher Nataraj, he too appreciated the idea and supported her.

"We approached donors and received a good response. Our students' parents also assisted artist Madan," said Bharathi.

It took 10 days to convert the school building into the model of a train for the artist.

Block Education Officer K Ganapathi flagged off the work on the painting of Sannakere Chinnara Express. The school has two classrooms with 24 students.

The BEO said that along with curriculum, the students should be introduced to the outside world.

"The walls of classrooms should have figures of fruits, vegetables, birds, mathematical symbols to motivate the children to learn. The Education Department will extend its helping hand in painting the classrooms."
