JOIN USThe Election Commission (EC), BBMP officials and the police undertook surprise checks in Mahadevapura and Rajarajeshwari Nagar constituencies on Saturday.
The officials conducted raids at the Laggere ward in Rajarajeshwari Nagar constituency and seized around 100 pressure cookers and 350 sarees that were being distributed by Congress MLA N Munirathna Naidu.
The freebies had pictures of Munirathna and a poster of his upcoming Kannada production 'Munirathna Kurukshetra'.
The officials also seized tailoring machines and plastic buckets in Cheemasandra at Mahadevapura constituency.
More than 100 tailoring machines were seized from a godown that belongs to Congress members and plastic buckets from the BJP members' godown.
After confiscating the freebies, a case was registered and the Mahajar was conducted on the spot.
