Last Updated 11 April 2018, 09:09 IST

The high court on Tuesday dismissed a petition filed by Shashi Distilleries Pvt Ltd for the quashing of National Green Tribunal (NGT) orders on closing down industries that pollute Bellandur Lake.

The Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) had served a notice on the company located near Hulimavu on April 17, 2017. The high court stayed cases related to Bellandur Lake before the NGT on June 16, 2017.

Meanwhile, the Namma Bengaluru Foundation (NBF) moved the Supreme Court against the high court's order. The apex court vacated the stay on August 8, 2017.

On Tuesday, a division bench of Chief Justice Dinesh Maheshwari and Justice B M Shyam Prasad dismissed the petition by Shashi Distilleries as not maintainable after the NBF submitted a copy of the Supreme Court order.
