ANF getting ready for smooth GP polls in naxal areas

Udupi SP Praveen Madhukar had convened a meeting to discuss preparations for the GP polls at Karkala on Sunday. ANF SP Vasudeva Murthy along with other senior police officers and ANF personnel attended the meeting.

Karkala taluk has 29 Gram Panchayats and 153 polling booths. As many as 25 polling booths have been declared as hyper sensitive and 105 polling booths have been declared as sensitive booths in the taluk.

In Hebri police station limits, Konkanarabettu School, Melmata school in Kabbinale of Mudradi Grama, Nellikatte school, Seethanadi school, Someshwara school and Seethanadi Forest bunglow in Nadpalu village have been declared as hyper sensitive. In Ajekaru police station limits, Andaru, Mutlupadi, Shirlalu, Kervase polling booths and Idu village have been declared as hyper sensitive.

For free and fair polling, ANF personnel and police personnel will provide tight security. Bunkers have already been set up in some of the hyper sensitive polling booths.
