<p>Students should effectively utilise the various progressive schemes introduced by the Government in the Education Department, advised Chief Whip of the Legislative Council Dr V H Shivayogi Swamy here on Friday.<br /><br />He was speaking after laying the foundation stone for the construction of new classrooms at Kisan Rural High School at Kadadhanamari village in Munganahalli.<br /><br />“The Government is spending crores of rupees for providing free uniforms, text books, cycles, mid-day meals, scholarships and loans for higher education, to ensure that students continue their education,” he remarked.<br /><br />Dr Shivayogi Swamy informed that the Government had formed a committee to look into the discrepancies in the pay scales of high school teachers. He assured that the findings would be implemented as soon as the report is submitted.<br /><br />District BJP President Satyanarayana Mahesh said that the Government had released Rs 4 lakh from the MLC funds for the construction of new classrooms. <br /><br />Chief Secretary for the district-level BJP unit Na Shankar, taluk-level president B N Srinivasappa, party leaders P V Lokesh, Sugunashri, Ramareddy, Manjunathachari, K Krishnamurthy, Prakash Gupta, Sridhar, Shivanna and Rajareddy were present.<br /><br />DH News Service</p>
