Foundation laid for new classrooms

Students should effectively utilise the various progressive schemes introduced by the Government in the Education Department, advised Chief Whip of the Legislative Council Dr V H Shivayogi Swamy here on Friday.

He was speaking after laying the foundation stone for the construction of new classrooms at Kisan Rural High School at Kadadhanamari village  in Munganahalli.

“The Government is spending crores of rupees for providing free uniforms, text books, cycles, mid-day meals, scholarships and loans for higher education, to ensure that students continue their education,” he remarked.

Dr Shivayogi Swamy informed that the Government had formed a committee to look into the discrepancies in the pay scales of high school teachers. He assured that the findings would be implemented as soon as the report is submitted.

District BJP President Satyanarayana Mahesh said that the Government had released Rs 4 lakh from the MLC funds for the construction of new classrooms.

Chief Secretary for the district-level BJP unit Na Shankar, taluk-level president B N Srinivasappa, party leaders P V Lokesh, Sugunashri, Ramareddy, Manjunathachari, K Krishnamurthy, Prakash Gupta, Sridhar, Shivanna and Rajareddy were present.
