Based on concrete information that Mohammed Nazarullah Tippu, Assistant Administrative Head of the hospital, had received a bribe of Rs 20,000 and had kept it in a drawer in his office, Lokayukta officials raided his office.

The officials found Rs 20,000 kept in two envelopes ––  Rs 13,500 in one and Rs 6,500 in another –– and government cheques worth Rs 30 lakh. The officials confiscated the money and cheques when the officer failed to give a valid explanation.
Lokayukta Superintendent of Police Voopur Reddy and Deputy SP Budhihal were part of the team that carried out the raid.
