Priyanka Upendra will be making a special appearance in a song in Yograj Bhats Pancharangi

The Bengali beauty tells Metrolife that the only reason she accepted the offer was because of its director, Yograj Bhat. “He is a good friend and I have always seen him portray his heroines beautifully. So when he offered this song to me I gladly accepted as I trust him completely,” she adds.

The song was recently shot at St Mary’s Island in Malpe and on a boat on the beaches of Udupi. Priyanka says the shooting of the song seemed more like a picnic than work. “The comfort level that the team shared was good. I felt at home. Though it was really hot on the beaches, it didn’t bother me much because I was having good fun,” says Priyanka.

While she had met Nidhi Subbaiah, the heroine of the film, during the shoot of her reality show, it was for the first time she was meeting Diganth. “Nidhi is a very sweet and talented girl. It was good fun getting to know her better. Diganth too is an enterprising young man,” she explains.

The song is along the lines of Sushmita Sen’s track in Main Hoo Na. In fact Priyanka is playing the role of Diganth’s teacher and even her looks in the song is very similar to Sushmita.

“Actually, Yograj Bhat had Sushmita Sen’s character in mind while shooting the song. I got to know about it only when we started to shoot. My character comes only in the song, where I will be seen in colourful saris,” she smiles.

This is not all, Priyanka will soon be signing a Bengali movie, where she is set to play a double role.

“It’s called Saakshi and I am really looking forward to it,” she states.
