However, the Education Department is in no mood to change the pattern. In the previous years the ratio between objective and descriptive type questions was 60:40. This time it was reduced to 25:75.
Education minister Vishweshwara Hegde Kageri, on Thursday, attributed the dip in pass percentage in SSLC to change in the pattern. The change was necessary and the pattern will be retained for the coming years too. “Our efforts are to improve the pass percentage keeping the pattern intact”, he said.
The pass percentage in Bangalore Rural district has gone up considerably this year compared to figures in the previous year. Last year the district stood at 22nd place. This year it had scaled to 2nd position.
