JD(U) rebels plan to oust Nitish

Training guns at his friend-turned-foe, former Bihar JD(U) chief Lallan Singh said that countdown for Nitish’s removal had begun. “We will give the people of Bihar a suitable alternative to Nitish and Lalu,” said Lallan, who till recently was considered the de facto chief minister of the state.

But having fallen out with his closest friend recently, Lallan on Sunday made Nitish his prime target. He dwelt at length about the wrong steps taken by Nitish against farmers including the proposal to implement the D Bandhopadhaya Committee report on according rights to bataidars (sharecroppers).
