The deceased has been identified as Leela Karkera, a resident of Pangalagudde in Uliyaragoli near Kaup.
A case has been registered.
Jewellry stolen
Some unidentified miscreants gained entry into a house and decamped with 72 grams gold ornaments and kanike hundi at Manila Barya village in Belthangady taluk. The house belonged to Rathnakar.
