'Expedite work on Yaragol project'

Construction of the dam is yet to begin though the work on the project though started in March 2006. The procedures for acquiring land, identification of the lands that would be submerged for the project are  yet to be set in motion.

The Revenue Department has been stating that there is no impediment to provide land to the project as the proposed location is a gomala (grazing land). However, the Forest Department has been saying that the land would be handed over only after obtaining prior permission from the Union government for non-forest use of the land after submitting a proposal, the memorandum said, urging immediate steps to acquire land for the project.
