Be alert, DC tells enumerators

Speaking at a meeting on census on Tuesday, he said “since some villages come under two Gram Panchayats in the district, it will be considered as one block during census.  However, no house should be left out. If there was any mistake in the primary stage, there will more problems during the census.”

He said enumerators should be alert while preparing house list in towns and rural areas. Some houses belong to towns and some belong to Gram Panchayats. There is a need to clear the doubt over it with the help of Bill Collector and other officials.

There are chances of leaving out houses situated in hillock, unknowingly. If the enumerators do not visit one’s house, then public can directly approach GP/Town Panchayat/CMC office to inform them. All the Gram Panchayat Secretaries should see that census is being carried out effectively in the district, said ZP CEO Mirja Akbarulla.  District Statistician Srinivasrao said “Shanivarasanthe, Ponnampete, Kiruguru, Aravathoklu are being distributed among two Gram Panchayats. However, they come under one block. One need to be cautious about it.”
