Temporary respite at BTC as KROA, KTA send entries

Last Updated 19 May 2010, 17:56 IST

After the BTC had extended their entry deadline to 6 pm on Wednesday, a few informal meetings were held between the KROA and the BTC and it was decided to put in the entries before the deadline.

The BTC will hold a managing committee meeting on Thursday morning and based on the outcome of the meeting, the entries will be formalised.

“The entries have been put in today on the basis of oral negotiations that took place between the BTC management and the associations (KROA and KTA).

“They will be formalised tomorrow after the managing committee of the BTC meets,” Arvind Raghavan, honorary secretary of the KROA, said. “We are optimistic of the outcome.”
On Monday, the BTC had raised its stake money by giving an additional 1.25 crore.
One of the main issues that the KTA and KROA had taken objection to was the decrease in stake money from the previous season.

After several discussions and negotiations, which are understood to have been positive, a majority of the problems have been sorted out and it appears as if the summer season in Bangalore will go ahead.
