Lampard is one of Capello's trump cards

Uncle Harry was not just any casual observer. Harry Redknapp was manager of West Ham United at the time and his nephew Frank was a junior at the club. "When I see what he can do now, and what he has achieved in the game, I often think back to that time. Frank was special from day one and had that will to succeed."

Redknapp was talking at a tribute evening in his nephew's honour in January.
He was the only man to play in all 10 of England's World Cup qualifiers, contributing four goals including two when the team sealed their place in the finals with a 5-1 win over Croatia at Wembley last September.

With 77 England caps to his credit, and David Beckham out of the finals with injury, only Steven Gerrard (78 caps) has played more times for England among the current squad.
The Lampard-Gerrard dilemma -- how to accommodate them both in the England midfield -- is no longer such an issue with coach Fabio Capello deploying Gerrard on the left and Lampard in a more central role.

The two players' ability to score goals and keep driving England forward, with Gareth Barry in the supporting role, is one of Capello's trump cards.
