Integrity camp in Harangi enthrals NCC cadets

Cadets from three taluks of Kodagu as well as from Sullia and Puttur taluks of Dakshina Kannada district are being trained on firing, physical exercise, sports, parade and lecture on patriotism, said Lieutenant Commandant Harishchandra Singh.

Speaking to Deccan Herald, he said that NCC cadets should inculcate descipline and dedication to preserve the unity and integrity of the nation. The main focus of the training is to develop cadets personally in this direction, he added.

He said that cadets are being trained in adventures, community programmes, quiz, elocution and extempore speech and cultural activities.

Cadets were also taken to nearest tourist centres including Harangi Dam, Kaveri Nisargadhama, Bailukuppe Rehabilitation Camp and other spots as part of the camp, Singh added

Camp of junior cadets and senior cadets will conclude on May 24 and 26 respectively. An Aids awareness programme will be organised in Kushalnagar town at the end of the camp. The camp will help cadets nurture qualities of  love, trust and fraternity and also will be helpful in building harmony and integrity, said another official Krishna.

Suneera, a cadet from Kaveri College, Gonikoppa, said that the camp instilled confidence in them to venture into adventurous activities. It also taught us the values of love and trust, she added.

Jnanaganga Residential School Principal B S Ningappa said that the cadets, who attended the camp will be able to serve the nation in future. School Administrator O K Changappa was present.

A total of 250 boys, 150 girls and 9 NCC Officers are taking part in the camp.
