Last Updated 08 June 2009, 19:52 IST

The All India Anti-Terrorist Front chairman Maninderjit Singh Bitta on Monday warned that the country must not take issues of terrorism lightly as turmoil in neighbouring Pakistan could see the nuke warheads in the hands of the Taliban and terrorists there.
Addressing reporters here, Mr Bitta said the National Security Guard units is very much necessary for Cities such as Bangalore, Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Kolkata.

‘Security lax in City’

“Security in Bangalore is lax. Even at the Vidhana Soudha, all the police does is hold a mirror at the bottom of vehicles, to check for hidden bombs. This is not enough. The government must also establish anti-terror military courts to try terrorists and punish them in a speedy manner.” he said.
