The news of plane accident and death of Mr Manjrekar in the incident spread like wild fire in the locality and it was talk of the town. The cruel act of fate has taken away the life of Mr Manjrekar, who was known for his calm and friendly behaviour. The family was eagerly waiting for his arrival in Karwar after reaching Mangalore from Dubai. Before reaching home, he had left for heavenly abode.

Prasad’s father Anandu Babani Manjrekar has been working as constable in KSRP. He was transferred to Mangalore a few years ago after serving at Khanapur in Belgaum district and Hubli. Of the three sons of Mr Anandu, one is working in a private company at Doddaballapur and another is in Indian Army, presently posted at Jammu. Mr Prasad had left for Dubai two and half years ago to work for an air conditioner company. He was returning for the first time to his home from Dubai and was killed before landing. He had telephonic conversation with his father on Friday to inform him about his arrival and it was the last talk with the family. Mr Anandu was at the airport at 5.30 am on Saturday to receive his son.
