That was the family of Mohammad Nasir Dawoodi, a real estate dealer in Dubai who died in the road mishap. Nasir’s wife Sharika was one of the 11 persons. After this incident, Nasir-Sharika’s children Sarah (11), Mohommad Shunab (9) and Nabeeha (6) and Mohommad Nuh (3) stayed at Bhatkal with their grandfather.

While Mohammad Nuh could not fly to Dubai due to problem with documents, his siblings left to Dubai to be with their father for summer vacation.  After spending quality time with his children, Nasir decided to come to Bhatkal along with his children and he boarded the ill-fated Air India flight along with his children, which crashed on Mangalore soil on Saturday.

The people of Bhatkal can only shed tears for this unfortunate family which lost 11 members on November 11, 2009 in a mishap and lost another 4 members in one go on Saturday. The road mishap caused due to driver’s negligence had killed 7 women and 4 men of this family. Mohammad Nuh, unaware of the fact that he has lost his parents and his loving siblings plays happily on the lap of his grandfather.
