Paswan all set to enter Rajya Sabha

This will be for the first time that the Dalit leader, in his four-decade-long political career, will enter the Upper House.

Paswan, who featured in the Guinness Book of World Records after he won the 1977 Lok Sabha election with a record margin, however, suffered a drubbing at the hustings in the 2009 parliamentary poll. The man, who nursed the dream of becoming the first Dalit prime minister, could neither himself romp home nor any of his nominee could win from any where in the country.
