Acharya opens solid waste mgmt plant in Kundapur

Speaking at the solid waste management plant at Kandavara in Kundapur, he said the TMC should plan to supply water for 24 hours a day. Under Chief Minister’s special grants, Udupi CMC was given Rs 30 crore and Kundapur TMC was given Rs 5 crore which are being utilised effectively.

The State government has earmarked Rs 10,500 crore for health and education. Plans have been chalked out to produce 16,000 mega watt electricity in the State, he added.
For the UGD works in Kundapur, an expert team from Karnataka Urban Water Supply and Drainage Board will visit the region and later resource will be mobilised.

Minister for Urban Development, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Suresh Kumar said “waste management is haunting the country. The co-operation of the public is essential for effective waste management.”

“State government is also planning to ban plastic. The burning of plastics cause cancer. With will power any projects can be implemented,” he added.  III Finance Implementation Task Force President A G Kodgi, MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary, DC Hemalatha, AC Sadashiva Prabhu and others were present.
